I have the pleasure of collaborating with Anthony C. Brinkley and @dericktinsley on “Imagine,” for the Greenwood Art Project. Our project was mentioned in the The New York Times interview with Jerica Wortham, project manager of the Greenwood Art Project and Quraysh Ali Lansana, poet and educator. I’m excited to work ensure another generation does not grow up unaware of the #TheBlackWallStreet legacy in Tulsa, #Oklahoma. Glad that my Mom shared information with me at a young age but it was not mentioned in a school setting (including Oklahoma History class) until college where Dr. Simmons shared stories about it that I had never heard. He was an avid researcher and wrote books about the Tulsa Race Massacre and I am glad to have taken multiple Journalism classes led by him at the University of Central Oklahoma. As I continue to learn about The Black Wall Street, I am filled with pride. Pride in the legacy of Greenwood. More project info to come... #Oklahoma #Tulsa #legacy #Greenwood
